Guilty feet have got no rhythm

Journal Entry: Mon Aug 6, 2012, 7:15 AM
  • Listening to: Radio mix of old and new songs
  • Watching: Running Man
  • Playing: random facebook games haha

The only real perk I can think of to try out today is the journal skin~ Here's my 12th bday silly story:
My great-grandfather used to tell me, "Don't chase after umbrellas because you'll only end up with a tangerine in your upper thigh." I never quite understood his advice until one Halloween, I was gardening with my best friend Cassidy. All of a sudden, we found an underground tunnel! It was peculiar and spooky sounds came from deep within. Cassidy saw something interesting inside, jumped in, and I never saw her again. Great-granddaddy was right!

Popping up a new journal entry to get rid of the old depressing one.

It's currently Winter and I've yet to catch the flu this year - yay!

The opening ceremony of the Olympics was AMAZING and I've got certain moments in my head that I want to recapture on paper.
As for the games themselves, I'm finding it difficult to find coverage of the sports I most want to see. Oh well.

The trip to Taiwan to visit my new nephew was my favourite vacation of all! A not insignificant part of the reason is all the cool stuff I got to buy haha. Among other things, a new tablet! The Intuos 4 is totally getting a work out now too.

I just got a few packages today from the UK. n___n I love getting mail. These are from a recent splurge of online shopping.

We will be visiting Manifest again this year, but I won't be setting up a table. Here's hoping I get the chance next year! I'd really like to experience having a stall somewhere (anywhere) and being able to sell things I've worked hard on. Maybe I'll look into doing something with my Etsy account.

My current (ongoing) obsession is with the Korean variety show, Running Man. I-it's so awesome, I don't even know where to start gushing. The best part of the show is the combination of the cast's personalities and the reallyreally fun games the producers organise for some episodes. I'm often left in awe at the lengths to which they go to remain true to a theme, and how ingenious some of their ideas are. My inner child adores all the scavenger hunts.

Goals for the month:
- Think of how best to celebrate my siblings' birthdays
- Do a major cleaning overhaul of the house while it's too cold to go outside (so that Mum has one less thing to stress about)
- Catch up on older RM episodes while Olympics have delayed broadcast of newest ones
- Get into the habit of drawing more every week if not every day

Thank you for watching! I really like your vector (is it vector?) art!

You're welcome! And yes, it is vector. XD I couldn't render much else for awhile with only a mouse, though thankfully I've just bought myself a new tablet.

I have illustrator and have used it a few times, but I have yet to render any anime-ish things. I'm a bit afraid of the learning curve. In your opinion, is it easier to draw or to render?

Hm, I never draw directly into Illustrator, because I hate its brush tool lol. But tracing say, a pencil sketch is easy (I use the pen tool exclusively). Celshading is even easier after that, because you can just fill up areas with a bucket. But I wouldn't really recommend it for anime-ish things. You lose a lot of tools by treating it as a vector image.
